According to the president, the bill seeks to clarify that the effective date of the implementation of the 7.5 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) increment is February 1, 2020, and not the January 18 date held by many stakeholders.
He said the bill also wants to amend the provisions of the tax holiday incentive for agriculture and the inclusion of animal feeds in the list of basic food items exempted from VAT.
